Metafields add product details without putting them in the description.
- Create a definition: Settings > Custom data > Products > Add definition. For example:
- Materials: namespace and key
custom.materials, type Multi-line text. - Care guide: Shopify’s standard definition
descriptors.care_guide. - Origin:
custom.origin, type Single line text.
- Materials: namespace and key
- Fill in the values on each product, at the bottom of the product page in admin.
- Show them on the product page: add a Collapsible row block and enter the definition in Product metafield as
namespace.key, for examplecustom.materials. The row heading comes from Heading. - Fallback: when a product has no value for that metafield, the row shows the block’s Text or Page content instead. When none of them has content, the row is hidden.
